Each unique Ooh La Lūm mixed media piece begins with the creation of the 'canvas'. We upcycle cotton textiles and hand dye the material using organic dyes. The application of various mediums is added and the pieces are finished off with hand stitched embroidery. Each mixed media piece is mounted in a custom wood shadow box frame.

Always Choose Love is hand stitched using a light rust color embroidery thread and reads "Always Choose Love". Frame is painted and lightly distressed in matte white.

We are Lauren (Lu) and Maggie (M) and we are thrilled you're here! We have been friends for nearly 20 years and we share a passion for creativity, design, and a positive and fun-loving approach to life.

Over the years we have sought out unique, beautiful, and meaningful art to fill our homes and special spaces. In 2019 while searching for wall art for a very specific spot in M's home but coming up empty handed, we decided to take a shot at creating a one-of-a-kind piece to fill the space. Through hours of creative output, our first Intention Wheel was born, and we loved it! We felt we had designed a piece of art that introduced texture, interest, and custom touches we weren't seeing anywhere else. We truly believe the original use of materials is complementary to almost any home decor.

For about a year we channeled most of our energy into Intention Wheels but continued to explore and work in other areas of art and home accents. Our love for texture and organic elements led to the creation of our Mixed Media pieces as well as various other home decor items. You'll find elements and subtleties of intention and love in each Ooh La Lūm art piece. We believe setting intentions invokes focus and direction and leads to greater fulfillment.

We are so happy you found us, and we are grateful for your interest in our art and our story. Our hope is our art will soon adorn one of your special spaces and serve as a reminder to invite and embrace intentions that will positively serve you during this season of life.
