Crown Objet bring a streetwear-inspired edge to an old-world aesthetic.
Neighbours for 15 years, Heather Waugh Pitts and David Muir cut through a backyard fence for frequent coffee dates to discuss art and their latest projects. Both visual artists Heather a painter, potter, and designer and David an advertising fine art photographer and designer they have collaborated on various projects over the years including a featured column in the regional culture and lifestyle magazine Refined.
Over coffee, they talked about ways to combine their love of imagery into art on textiles. The idea of an streetwear, contemporary fashion line of Scarves, Wraps, Pocket squares, and Pillows was born.
The company name and logo tag Crown Objet was inspired by a photo David took in Berlin of street graffiti. The crown represented the M for Muir, W for Waugh.
Their love of street art, antlers, graffiti, skulls, botanicals, and modern iconic imagery are layered together to create designs that make a contemporary art and fashion statement.
Wanting only the best in textiles and printing, Heather and David partnered with a respected family owned Italian company to translate their designs onto silk and modal cashmere.
