The Alaria Console Table. Alaria is a collection of curved wood furniture pieces. A free flowing work sculpture allowing the wood to dictate the path. The Alaria line manages to recreate the visual and structural boundaries of wood using thin layers of mostly ash and walnut that are glued together along a course that the wood and nature dictates. Alaria challenges the visual properties of standard furniture and seamlessly creates stunning pieces of stand-alone art. The laminated wood strands curve and twist gracefully, reflecting the natural movement of organic material in free flow form.

Individually handcrafted, each furniture piece is a showcase of functional art.

Randy Mugford, a self-taught designer, has been involved in various forms of design for over 30 years. His early design experience involved manufacturing socially-responsible clothing and outdoor gear, a combination of his love of nature and his need to create. Randy attributes his success in furniture building to his design skills from previous experiences, an uninfluenced self-taught approach, and a passion to push material boundaries. This is evident in the clean lines and visual flow of each piece. His furniture has its own signature, as no two pieces are alike due to the nature of his craft. His pieces are often described as functional art.
