Made from sliced offcut pieces from La Loupe Design wooden lamp bases, arranged in dynamic relation to their negative space and combined with acrylic paint, this piece depicts a playful and colorful abstraction.
The composition is applied onto an acrylic-washed baltic birch plywood panel, finished with a slick maple frame.
DIMENSIONS: 24 in x 12in x 1.5 in
MATERIALS: Walnut, maple, charred white oak, wenge, baltic birch plywood, acrylics.
By Marco Duenas
A multi-disciplinary artist, Marco creates geometric, three-dimensional abstract objects that incorporate minimalist concepts and abstraction through the interplay of space, color, and form, His work focuses on the essence of the forms and materials used. Despite the apparent simplicity of the pieces, they are infinitely complex in construction and composition.
In his work, he incorporates a curated selection of cut-off pieces of wood from La Loupe’s lamp production, including American walnut, maple, oak, and Sapele, with acrylic paints.
Commissions are welcomed, please message to discuss.
