Inspired by the emotional reactions we have to our natural world, communicating the essence of a subject is my goal. I begin with a fairly strict idea of where I'm going; then somewhere along the way I cut myself loose. I love the energetic, raw emotion this gives a painting. A sense of reality, a dose of abstraction and a willingness to imagine.... my paintings are images that have been "found" not "built."
