Fusing fine art with functional design, this light is 100% hand constructed & finished locally in Melbourne by artist Sarah Tracton with high-grade translucent & luminous Australian made porcelain, forming its own unique personality with vibrant iridescent colour surfaces. Created using a niche slip on plaster method, then hand sanded and glaze fired, each light forms its own unique one of a kind characteristics. Ideal in creating an exquisite and organic ambient glow within residential or commercial settings.

All purchases from the artist are fully fitted with certified electrical components and a canopy ready for install by a professional electrician. Please inquire for the availability of sizes and colours in this range and bespoke project commissions.

Fine porcelain bespoke lighting handcrafted in Melbourne, Australia.

Drawn to exploring the infinite possibilities of porcelain translucency, fine artist and designer Sarah Tracton handcrafts lighting that is luminous, experimental and ethereal. To achieve her lighting’s remarkable diaphanous effect, Sarah honed her artistry at the National Art School in Sydney, mastering an unique technique of pouring clay slip on a plaster slab, then heightening its luminous properties by adding iridescent colours to the porcelain, which results in exquisite celestial translucency when internally lit. She repairs the porcelain which has shattered in firing stages with Kintsugi gold leaf technique, combating wasting with circular economy. A dual existence as fine art and function design. Each lit surface reveals unique one-of-a-kind idiosyncrasies, embracing the intriguing variations inherent in the handcrafting process.
