009_mei is a box for storing glasses or pen. The design is inspired by Japanese INRO, a traditional Japanese case for holding small objects, suspended from the obi (sash) worn around the waist when wearing a kimono. We simplified the structure to fits nowadays’ needs.

CHICHOIMAO is a wood working studio founded in 2019 Hong Kong. This Hong Kong based workshop is founded by one carpenter and two cats.

The name CHI CHOI MAO is the pronunciation of Cantonese “自在貓”. This is hoped that our products can create harmonic and a relaxing atmosphere, just like the life of our cats founder (Kin Kin & Ar Mei). CHICHOIMAO creates small sized furniture by solid wood. By using traditional joinery techniques, it gives the work a more elegant look with longer life. All works are designed and hand-made in Hong Kong, which fits contemporary lifestyle.
