Born and raised in Northern California, Steve's life was forged by the beauty, culture, and wildlife that surrounded him. Thanks to his father, he had an early introduction to fishing and hunting. Steve's dad was a fishing guide and he spent many of his younger years exploring the lakes, ponds, and rivers. His dad and dad's friends also raised hawks and falcons. Needless to say, these experiences have played a huge role in Steve's passion to create his wildlife art. 2013 Steve sold his fabrication business and made a choice to pursue a full-time art career. Since then Steve's developed and continues to perfect his metal shaping skills using hammers and mallets to turn sheet-metal into sculptures. He’s most proud of the steel eagle with over 4,000 polished stainless feathers. He’s created thousands of realistic metal butterflies, like the Monarch, Swallowtail, and the Blue Ulysses. Steve’s current focus is on bringing life to his hand-shaped stainless steel fish and huge realistic butterfly sculptures. Steve works seven days a week on his art. Primarily from commission to commission.
