"My work focuses on texture ranging from abstract to portraits."
New Orleans artist Lauren Hall creates paintings rich in texture and layers, ranging from abstract to portraits. Typically working in oils, often using only a palette knife to build depth and intensity on the canvas, her process allows each painting to emerge layer upon layer, no matter the medium.
Having studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris, she has experience ranging from painting to graphic design, fashion, and interior design, all of which influence her work. A believer in the concept that there is beauty in imperfection, both in life and on the canvas, her work gives viewers a sense that a story is about to unfold.
