The paintings created by Kristin Shearer are geometric color studies of memory and place, story and emotion. She uses color palettes found in nature or design and deconstructs the image into building blocks of color, then arranges the color blocks into patterns and shapes that the eye may find both familiar and challenging. There is both comfort in the recognition and tension in the ultimate composition, and a subtle balance that is at times fleeting, depending on the light the work is viewed in, as in real life. Kristin lives and creates in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, young son, and rescue pup turned studio assistant.
