Iowa-based fber artist and interior designer, Candice Luter, creates custom wood and fber art. Infuenced by her travels to Europe, she skillfully blends mid-century modern, art deco, and minimalist styles. What started as a hobby in 2014 by creating one-of-a-kind designs from her home studio, it quickly began to build momentum as a collection of commercial art and approachable, unique home decor. How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?
"Sometimes it's a sketch, sometimes it's an idea that pops in my head, and other times its from trial/error in the direction in which my designs give birth to themselves. I spend alot of time just working with the materials themselves and testing out different methods with dye, paint, and other crazy ideas that come to my head to see what happens "if". Most times my ideas have come from that or from clients saying here is my inspiration now put your funk on it and let me know what you can do!"
