I am a Miami-based interdisciplinary artist. I work with a diverse strategy creating and activating works beyond fixed categories. My work examines the transformative power of nature and the relationship between nature, society, and self.
I grew up as a military kid and was uprooted many times, from big city to small village, from big house to small cottage. My mother was an avid gardener and no matter where we landed a garden would magically appear out of moist, brown shades of soil. My mother taught me how to speak to flowers and watch them flourish. The garden, in our nomadic lives, was always the great constant.
I have an affinity for work that values craft as well as vision and concept, work that celebrates the physicality of the handmade and engages materiality. My work has been awarded fellowships and grants and has been exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, festivals, and private collections.
